Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to the True Performance Supplements website.

True Performance Supplements is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we use your information, you can contact us at:

What This Privacy Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used and protected when you visit the True Performance Supplements website, contact us, create or use a customer account, place an order, subscribe to marketing communications or otherwise interact with us online.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Once you follow a link to another website, that organisation’s own privacy practices will apply.

Information You Choose to Give Us

Depending on how you use our website, you may choose to provide information such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing or delivery address, customer account information, order information and information you provide when contacting us.

If you subscribe to our newsletter or other marketing communications, we will also process the information you provide for that purpose.

Customer Accounts and Orders

True Performance Supplements uses WooCommerce to operate its online shop.

If you create a customer account or place an order, information such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses and order history may be stored as part of the normal operation of our ecommerce website.

We use this information where necessary to process and fulfil orders, administer customer accounts, provide customer service, communicate with you about your order and maintain appropriate business, accounting and legal records.

Payments

Online payments are processed using PayPal.

Payment information required to complete a transaction is processed by PayPal in accordance with its own security and privacy arrangements. We do not store your full payment card details ourselves.

We may retain appropriate transaction and payment information as part of our order, accounting and financial records.

Delivery and Order Fulfilment

True Performance Supplements uses Royal Mail for the delivery of customer orders.

Where necessary to fulfil your order, relevant information may be provided to Royal Mail, such as your name, delivery address and other information reasonably necessary to arrange or manage delivery.

We only provide information necessary for the relevant delivery or fulfilment purpose.

Contacting Us

Our website provides a contact form which you can use to send us an enquiry.

When you use the contact form, we may collect information including your name, email address, telephone number where provided, and the contents of your message. We use this information to understand and respond to your enquiry and provide appropriate customer service.

Information you deliberately submit through a contact form belongs to that communication and customer-service process. It is not necessary for Journey Analytics to store the contents of your message simply to understand your website journey.

Newsletter and Marketing

You may choose to subscribe to newsletters and promotional communications from True Performance Supplements, including through the optional newsletter signup available during checkout.

Our email marketing service is provided using Mailchimp. When you choose to subscribe, the information you provide for that purpose may be processed using Mailchimp so that we can send you the communications you have requested.

Marketing communications are optional. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in our marketing emails.

We do not treat placing an order or simply visiting the website as consent to receive optional marketing communications.

Website Analytics and Visitor Journeys

We use website analytics and performance information to understand how people find and use our website, which pages and products receive attention, how visitors move through the website and how we can improve the online experience.

True Performance Supplements uses Journey Analytics, a first-party website journey measurement system developed by apluskdesign.

Journey Analytics is designed around a simple privacy principle: understand the journey without needing to know the person.

Journey Analytics may record information about website activity including pages viewed, the order in which pages are visited, dates and times of activity, referral or traffic-source information where available, website interactions, engagement evidence and configured website events or Goals.

On an ecommerce website, this may also include journey evidence relating to activity such as viewing products, progressing towards checkout or other configured ecommerce events where those events are genuinely recorded. A purchase or completed order should only be treated as a completed conversion where reliable completed-order evidence is available.

Journey Analytics uses pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers to connect website activity into journeys. These identifiers allow website activity to be distinguished without requiring Journey Analytics to know a visitor’s name, email address, telephone number or other personal profile information simply for journey measurement.

Logged-in Customer Journeys

Customers may create and log into an account on the True Performance Supplements website.

Journey Analytics is currently configured so that visitors with the Customer role may continue contributing to their pseudonymous website journey while logged in.

This does not require Journey Analytics to store the customer’s WordPress or WooCommerce username, email address, user ID, customer account details or other profile identity simply because the customer is logged in.

Other internal or administrative website roles are excluded from logged-in Journey Analytics tracking according to our current configuration.

WooCommerce may need to know who a customer is in order to operate their account, process an order and provide customer service. Journey Analytics does not need to know who that customer is simply to understand how the website is being used.

Logged in does not have to mean identified by Journey Analytics.

How Journey Analytics Recognises Website Activity

Journey Analytics uses first-party pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers to recognise activity on this website.

These identifiers are normally stored using first-party browser storage. A Journey Analytics session is currently treated as ending after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Where supported website events require server-side confirmation, pseudonymous Journey Analytics identifiers may also be mirrored into limited first-party cookies so that a confirmed event can be associated with the appropriate visitor or session journey.

This does not require submitted contact-form contents, customer account information or other personal profile information to be stored in Journey Analytics simply to measure the journey or record a supported event.

Journey Analytics is currently configured with a data-retention target of 365 days. This is a configured retention target and may be reviewed as our website, operational requirements or privacy practices develop.

Referral and Source Information

Where available, Journey Analytics may record ordinary referral or traffic-source information to help us understand how visitors discovered the True Performance Supplements website.

For example, when somebody follows a normal link to this website from another website, available referral information may indicate the website or source from which the visit originated.

This source information helps us understand how different websites, content and promotional activity contribute to visits without, by itself, identifying the individual visitor.

Journey Analytics and Other Analytics Services

Journey Analytics operates independently at its core and does not require Google Analytics or Google Search Console in order to provide its first-party website journey measurement.

Other analytics and search services may be used alongside Journey Analytics to provide additional context and evidence.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to help us understand website usage and performance.

Google Analytics is separate from Journey Analytics and may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about how the website is used.

Where consent is required for non-essential analytics technologies, these should be used in accordance with the choices provided through our website’s cookie and consent controls.

Information processed through Google Analytics is subject to Google’s applicable privacy and data-processing arrangements.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to understand how the True Performance Supplements website performs in Google Search.

Search Console provides aggregated information such as search queries, impressions, clicks, click-through rates and search positions.

Journey Analytics may use this aggregated Search Console information as additional search intelligence to help us understand how people discover the website and how search performance relates to website content and visitor journeys.

This aggregated Search Console information does not tell Journey Analytics that a particular named or pseudonymous visitor searched for a specific Google search query.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies for different purposes.

Some technologies are essential for the website and online shop to operate correctly. For example, WooCommerce may use cookies or similar technologies for shopping basket, checkout, customer account and session functionality.

Journey Analytics primarily uses first-party browser storage containing pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers. Limited first-party identifier cookies may also be used for supported events where server-side confirmation needs to be associated with the appropriate pseudonymous journey.

Google Analytics and other optional services may use cookies or similar technologies. Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, visitors are provided with appropriate choices through our website’s cookie and consent controls.

You can also manage or delete cookies and other stored website information using your browser settings. Disabling technologies that are necessary for the online shop may affect how parts of the website function.

International Data Processing

Some of the technology and service providers we use may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards should be used where required by applicable data-protection law.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet appropriate legal, accounting, tax, contractual and regulatory obligations.

Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

Customer and order information may be retained where necessary for order administration, customer service, accounting, tax, legal and business-record purposes.

Contact information and correspondence may be retained where reasonably necessary to respond to an enquiry and maintain appropriate records.

Newsletter and marketing information may be retained while it is appropriate for us to provide the communications you have requested, subject to your right to unsubscribe or withdraw consent where applicable.

Journey Analytics is currently configured with a data-retention target of 365 days.

How We Protect Information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse.

These measures include the use of encrypted website connections, secure payment processing and appropriate controls over access to personal information.

No method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so our systems, services and practices should be reviewed as the website and business develop.

Your Data Protection Rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights in relation to your personal information depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which it is being processed.

These may include the right to:

  • ask for access to personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase personal information in certain circumstances;
  • ask us to restrict the processing of personal information in certain circumstances;

  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent as the basis for processing.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled.

Our website may contain links to websites operated by other organisations.

Once you follow a link to another website, its own privacy practices and terms will apply. True Performance Supplements is not responsible for how another organisation collects, stores or uses information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, services, technology, business practices or legal and regulatory requirements.

When we make changes, the updated policy will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be revised where appropriate.
